Clean Up Peterborough (CUP) is launching a Battery Collection for October, aimed at educating people about how to properly store their used batteries and learn where they can drop them off. Consensus is with most people we talk to – everyone has used batteries at home but don’t know where they can take them for recycling. We want to change that!

For Schools, Businesses, Non-profit organizations, Municipal departments and Community Groups- start up a collection box, print off our collection poster, and let’s see how many we can collect. We can educate you on how to use masking tape to cover the contacts. We also have little educational/promotional cubes we can provide to share amongst staff or students, so they can learn where batteries can be dropped off locally in future!

Let’s work together – CUP can pick up your batteries, count and provide the number collected to you. We can also provide photos to share on your social media. We would like to see how many we can collect over the month, and share the total number collected across the community at the end. ALL batteries collected will be sent in for proper recycling!
