As part of Waste Reduction Week in Canada, Maple Grove School is thrilled to host a fun-filled and educational event designed to engage students and families in sustainable practices and promote awareness of the circular economy. The event will feature an exciting lineup of activities, including:

Waste Repurposing Competition: Students will have the opportunity to repurpose waste materials such as plastic, textiles, and cans into new, creative products, showcasing their ability to turn “trash into treasure.”
Art Competition: Students will create art pieces focused on environmental themes and the importance of sustainability.
Guest Speakers: Inspiring speakers from the environmental sector will share insights on waste reduction, sustainability, and the role of youth in shaping a greener future.
Waste Sorting Games: Fun and interactive games that teach students how to properly sort waste into the right categories—recycling, compost, and landfill—while building lifelong waste reduction habits.
This event aims to empower students to contribute to a more sustainable world by understanding the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste. Prizes for the competitions will be awarded, with special thanks to local sponsors supporting our sustainability goals.
